Product Description

This gapless zinc oxide surge arrester is manufactured and tested in strict accordance with international IEC standards. It utilizes high-performance MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) components housed within a polymer casing; the internal zinc oxide elements are kept under compression to ensure secure, stable, and continuous electrical contact.

This gapless zinc oxide surge arrester external insulation is made of HTV (High-Temperature Vulcanized) silicone rubber, offering excellent hydrophobicity and UV resistance. In the event of a transient voltage surge, it rapidly discharges surge energy to the ground and limits residual voltage to specified levels, thereby preventing insulation breakdown and protecting transformers, switchgear, and other equipment from damage. It offers superior resistance to tracking (the formation of conductive paths on the insulation surface) and pollution flashover, reliably suppressing voltage surges caused by atmospheric conditions (such as lightning induction) and switching operations (transients). It protects medium-voltage overhead distribution networks and equipment - including pole-mounted transformers, cable terminations, and Ring Main Units (RMUs) - against voltage surges. The product ensures stable performance even in harsh environments, such as areas with salt-laden air, heavy industrial pollution, or high humidity.

This gapless zinc oxide surge arrester Compared to traditional porcelain surge arresters, this zinc oxide arrester is lighter in weight, resulting in significant savings on shipping costs and simplified on-site installation (reducing labor costs), while also offering superior fracture resistance.

Additionally, the product offers optional features such as a disconnector and a fault indicator. In the event of an internal fault, the disconnector activates reliably to isolate the arrester from the grounding circuit and provide a clear fault signal, facilitating on-site inspection and rapid replacement.

Our Product Advantage

01/

The design utilizes gapless metal-oxide varistors to ensure rapid response to overvoltage and reliable suppression of abnormal voltage surges within the system.

02/

The housing is constructed from High-Temperature Vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber. This material offers excellent hydrophobicity and superior resistance to UV radiation and pollution, making it ideal for outdoor use in harsh climatic conditions.

03/

Its lightweight yet robust design eliminates the risk of brittle failure - a common issue with porcelain counterparts - thereby enhancing safety during transport and on-site installation.

04/

Equipped with components such as a disconnector and a visual indicator, the unit facilitates quick and accurate fault detection during routine maintenance.

05/

The product is designed for medium-voltage power grids (specifically 11 kV and 33 kV systems); technical specifications can be customized to meet specific project requirements.

06/

The device is suitable for long-term outdoor operation, and every unit undergoes comprehensive routine inspection and testing prior to leaving the factory.

FAQ

Q1: What is the basic design of this polymer surge arrester?

A1: The arrester utilizes a gapless zinc oxide resistor element, eliminating the need for a series air gap. When the system experiences a voltage surge, the device activates rapidly, maintains stable operation, and protects downstream equipment from electrical damage.

Q2: What are the distinct advantages of the HTV silicone arrester compared to a standard porcelain arrester?

A2: The High-Temperature Vulcanized (HTV) silicone arrester offers excellent hydrophobicity, as well as resistance to UV radiation and pollution. Unlike traditional porcelain, it is impact-resistant and shatterproof; its lightweight nature facilitates easy storage, transport, and installation, while significantly reducing the risk of flashover in environments such as saline coastal areas or heavily polluted industrial zones.

Q3: What electrical specifications are currently available? Can the technical specifications be customized for specific projects?

A3: Current specifications cover medium-voltage ratings of 11kV and 33kV. For projects requiring customization - such as long span lengths, challenging weather conditions, or specific residual electrical requirements - our technical team can adjust specifications to suit the site's unique characteristics.

Q4: Is every unit tested before shipment, and what standards are followed?

A4: All line hardware undergoes standard testing before leaving the factory. Product design, type testing, and factory acceptance tests strictly adhere to international IEC standards to ensure consistent quality for overseas distribution projects.

Q5: What routine maintenance is required after the line hardware is installed?

A5: Only routine inspections are necessary to check the surface for accumulated debris or dirt and to monitor the status of fault indicators. Unless a fault test occurs, there is no requirement for replacement based on a fixed schedule.
