The FN18 indoor load break switch is designed for three-phase AC power distribution systems with a rated voltage of 12 kV and an operating frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz, complying with relevant IEC standards. It is widely used in urban distribution networks, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, industrial park substations, and data centers, typically installed within Ring Main Units (RMUs), compact metal-enclosed switchgear, and package substations.

The FN18 indoor load break switch features a rated short-circuit making capacity and is capable of making and breaking rated load currents, transformer no-load currents, and cable charging currents. These characteristics make it ideal for switching operations in medium-voltage distribution systems. When used in conjunction with high-voltage current-limiting fuses, the associated fuse interrupts the fault current in the event of a short-circuit, providing both short-circuit and overload protection. The specific protection action depends on the fuse combination selected for the switch design.
